A patio cover is not a roof over leftover space. In the Northwest it is how a deck becomes a room: dinner in the rain, a dry path to the grill, timber overhead that still belongs to the trees.
Weather, made usable
An open deck sits empty for most of the year. A gable cover keeps the table dry, cuts the summer sun, and gives the house a finished edge. Cedar posts and beams do the work and the look at the same time.
Structure first, then the timber
Covers fail at the connections — ledger, posts, and load path into the house. We size that before we talk about stain color. A chapel-like gable only works if the bones are honest.
How it sits on your house
The cover should look like it was always there: pitch, overhang, and how it meets the siding. We take that from the house, not from a catalog sketch.
Permits and neighbors
Many covers need a permit. Height, setbacks, and snow load are local. We handle that so the first surprise is not an inspector.
If you already have a deck that sits wet, a cover is often the upgrade that finally makes the yard earn its keep.
Sketch it in the estimator, then send photos. We will tell you what the structure can take.
